This is the top tier in a potential 3 level set of data. This is a sequential number of this set of pages in a series of surveys of this data type. At multi-islet atolls (FFS, PHR, MDY, KUR) an ATOLL-WIDE survey requires at least one page of survey with the same (or next consecutive) date of this data type for each permanently emergent islet within the atoll. So, for example, an Atoll-wide survey at Kure would require at least one page each from Green island, Sand island and shark island, but not necessarily Stark Island.It is also possible that there would be more than one page in a set of a survey from a snigle islet, such as 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3 of 3, etc.This number essentially ties together all of the individual surveys and pages that comprise the atoll-wide survey.In a single islet data type, it is more simply a super-index in a sequential series of surveys of that data type , i.e. Patrol 1, Patrol 2, etc.This is optional for data type I, but required for types A,B,C and P.
