Abstract:	Monthly mean, maximum, and minimum seawater temperatures in degrees Centigrade (°C). The dock is located on the Wepawaug River, a small esturine tidal river that joins Long Island Sound about 300 meters to the south. From 1975 - present, data were collected with the Laboratory at the sandfilter system. Seawater is pumped from Milford Harbor into a head tank on the roof of the building and then travels through pipes to the sand filter. Consequently, these data may reflect slight differences in temperature, compared to earlier readings taken directly from the harbor. Initially, Laboratory temperature measurements were made with a hand held thermometer. Hydrometer readings, corrected to 17.5 °C, were used to measure salinity. From the late 1990s on, an electronic digital temperature and salinity meter was used.
