Summary

Abstract

The SOCECON_LINE table contains attribute information for the vector LINES representing Socioeconomic areas, including pipelines, railroads, and roads found in the Great Lakes - Straits of Mackinac study area. The key field, HUNUM, links to the SOC_DAT table where attribute information for the vector LINES in this data set are stored. A second field, TYPE, stores a 1-4 letter abbreviation of the mapped resource type. This field can be used to quickly identify feature types, and is used to symbolize the human use data layers.

See the Entity_and_Attribute_Overview for a detailed description of how the primary attribute tables relate to the geographic data layers. Also see the Browse_Graphic section for a link to the entity-relationship diagram, which describes the relationships between attribute tables in the ESI data structure. | Description Source: NOAA ESI Guidelines
