Abstract

Original Dataset Product: This RI_StatewideLidar_2022_D22_QL1 project called for the planning, acquisition, processing, and derivative products of lidar data to be collected at an aggregate nominal pulse spacing (ANPS) of 0.35 meters (8ppsm) for 1121 square miles. Project specifications are based on the U.S. Geological Survey National Geospatial Program Lidar Base Specification, 2022 rev. A. The data was developed based on a horizontal projection/datum of NAD83 (2011), State Plane Coordinate System, Rhode Island, FIPS 3800, US Survey Feet vertical datum of NAVD88 (GEOID18). Lidar data was delivered as processed Classified LAS 1.4 files, formatted to 5467 individual 2500 ft x 2500 ft tiles, as tiled Intensity Imagery, and as tiled bare earth DEMs; all tiled to the same 2500 ft x 2500 ft schema.

This metadata record supports the data entry in the NOAA Digital Coast Data Access Viewer (DAV). For this data set, the DAV is leveraging the GeoTIFF files hosted by USGS on Amazon Web Services.
