Darryl San Souci
Darryl A. San Souci is a Safety and Environmental Compliance Officer (SECO), his position is located in the National Marine Fisheries Service, at the Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC). He’s attached to the Operations, Management, and Information Division (OMI), headquartered out of Woods Hole Massachusetts. In addition to his responsibilities at the Woods Hole location, he will also provide the same safety and environmental services to support Narragansett RI., Milford CT., Highlands NJ., and Orono ME laboratories.
Darryl joined the Northeast Fisheries Science Center in 2022 after spending 4 years with the National Park Service and 20 years with the US Forest Service. Prior to his reinstatement back into the Government, he worked for two municipalities within the Engineering Dept., he spent another 6 years working for the DOD prior to that. Darryl has a total of 33 years in Federal service, which includes his time in the military as a U.S. Navy Seabee. As the Safety and Environmental Compliance Officer, he will be responsible for the safety of employees and operations and for implementing the goals and requirements of the Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health program.
In my free time, I love to spend time on the ocean, either boating, fishing, jet skiing or spending time as an avid scuba diver. Darryl’s PADI & NAUI certified as a Dive Master, Rescue Diver, and enjoys cave diving in the nighttime. Also, he loves eating New England seafood, constantly! Most of all, he loves spending quality time with his girlfriend, his two boys and his family.
