Joe Mello

Joe received his BS in Zoology and MS in Fisheries Science from the University of Rhode Island.  He worked on American lobsters, blue mussels and porbeagle sharks prior to starting with the Observer Program in 2002.  His primary role within the TDQ Branch now is to oversee the processing of data collected by fisheries observers prior to it being made available for analysis.  He also oversees the species verification of all shark records and assists in the training of observers on the collection of data of pelagic fish and sharks.
