Laura Solinger
I am a quantitative fisheries biologist based in Mobile, Alabama, USA. I began my work in stock assessments with the Chilipepper Rockfish and Arrowtooth Flounder on the US West Coast during my Masters at Cal Poly Humbolt, and shifted my focus to management strategy evaluation of Eastern Oyster, Summer Flounder and Atlantic Surfclam on the Gulf and East Coasts for my PhD at the University of Southern Mississippi. As a Fish Biologist with the NEFSC, I model entanglement risk of large whales in the Northwest Atlantic and estimate relative risk reduction associated with a variety of potential management measures.
