Peter Burns

Pete Burns joined the Habitat and Ecosystems Services Division in July of 2020 as the chief of the Ecosystem Management Branch. This branch supports the region’s offshore wind, aquaculture, and ecosystem-based management activities, as well as the division's communications and outreach program. Prior to joining the Habitat and Ecosystem Services Division, Pete was a Fishery Policy Analyst in GARFO’s Sustainable Fisheries Division, serving as the agency’s point of contact for lobster fishery management. Pete has been with NOAA Fisheries since 1996 and has more than 30 years of experience in fisheries and environmental policy and management.
