2023 U.S. Pre-Transboundary Management Guidance Committee Meeting
The United States delegation to the Transboundary Management Guidance Committee (TMGC) will meet to hold a public listening session and establish its position for the full meeting of the TMGC.
About
The United States delegation to the Transboundary Management Guidance Committee (TMGC) will meet to hold a public listening session to discuss the output of the Transboundary Resource Assessment Committee (TRAC) and establish its position for the full meeting of the TMGC.
The general public will be able to attend the public listening session in person or via Google Meet, though the portion of the meeting that includes final position development will be closed to the public.
Interested members of the general public should fill out this Google Form so that we may assess expected attendance and provide updates to attendees if necessary.
Background
Eastern Georges Bank (EGB) cod, EGB haddock, and Georges Bank (GB) yellowtail flounder are jointly managed with Canada under the United States/Canada Resource Sharing Understanding. Each year, the TMGC meets as part of this process to discuss the scientific advice produced by the TRAC and recommend a shared Total Allowable Catch for each stock. During the U.S. Pre-TMGC meeting, the U.S. delegation will discuss the outcome of the TRAC and establish an agreed upon position ahead of the full TMGC meeting.
