Joseph Caracappa
Dr. Joseph Caracappa is a Research Fisheries Biologist with the Ecosystem Dynamics and Assessment Branch at the NOAA NMFS Northeast Fisheries Science Center in Woods Hole, MA. He began working as a postdoctoral researcher at the center in 2019 and later as a contractor on updating and improving the Northeast US Atlantis ecosystem model. He is currently working as the northeast region ecosystem modeler as part of the NOAA Climate Ecosystem and Fisheries Initiative. He is focused on bringing cutting-edge climate modeling products into fisheries management frameworks. Joe earned his Ph.D. in Oceanography at Rutgers University in 2019 while studying blue crab larval behavior and dispersal dynamics. He received a B.S. in Biology from Boston College in 2013.
