Sean has been a member of the Groundfish Assessment Program since 2016, where he assists in planning and conducting annual bottom trawl surveys in the Gulf of Alaska and Aleutian Islands to support resource assessments for federally managed groundfish and crabs stocks. He also leads research projects related to essential fish habitat and ecosystem processes. He is also conducting a morphological and genetic analysis of deep sea sponges to improve their identification and to better understand the distribution of these habitat forming organisms. Sean received a Ph.D. from Washington State University, a M.S. from University of Alaska Fairbanks, and a B.S. from Humboldt State University.
