Amy Westell
Amy earned a B.S. in Marine Science with a Biology concentration from Southampton College in 2004. She began working with the Northeast Fisheries Observer Program in 2005, working as a Data Debriefer. In 2009, she transitioned to a Data Auditor role when the position was created. Amy strives to help maintain a high level of data quality for all Northeast Fisheries Observer Program data, both by performing audits using existing data quality checks on observed trips and by adding new data quality checks for use in future audits when new trends are identified. She also creates and maintains internal documents for use by other data quality staff to ensure consistency in how data is handled. Amy is currently working on her Master’s in Computer Science at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
