Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan
NOAA Fisheries is committed to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility at all levels of the organization. We are aligned with NOAA’s mission of science, service, and stewardship. We recognize that the best “business case” for diversity is our commitment to “Mission First; People Always.” Our efforts continue to cultivate a diverse workforce to reflect, understand, and respond to the varied communities and stakeholders we serve.

Regional Strategic Plans
In July 2024, we released five updated Geographic Strategic Plans as a complement to the NOAA Fisheries Strategic Plan. These plans set out three strategic goals for 2024–2027, and detail key strategies to help achieve these goals. An essential aspect of our updated plans is our commitment to tackle climate change impacts on our conservation and management mission. We will also address barriers faced by underserved communities, and provide equitable treatment,
meaningful involvement in decision-making processes, and delivery of services to all communities.
