Forgotten Treasures: Abalone

The remnants of endangered white and black abalone have dwindled from overharvesting and habitat degradation. They're so rare that they have become forgotten coastal treasures.

Remembering little things each person does in their day to day lives can make a difference for these species to keep our watersheds and oceans healthy to improve conditions Southern steelhead trout.

Like any fish or wildlife in decline, learning about Southern California’s forgotten treasures is one way to ensure these species are never forgotten.
